Detailed description
The tax certificate (formerly known as the “certificate of clearance”) is proof that you reliably fulfill your tax obligations.
Other bodies – for example, authorities or contracting authorities – use this certificate to decide whether to grant you a permit, award you a contract or allow you to participate in a tender.
The certificate contains neutral information about your tax account, such as whether you have any tax debts or how reliably you file your taxes and returns. It shows the status at the time of issue.
It does not include whether you are considered a business owner under VAT law. Whether your tax practices are sufficient is always determined by the body that approves your application or order—for example, the trade authority or a client.
